Sign of an aggressive dog

Does your dog growl if you approach while he/she is eating? If so, it may be an indication that the dog is more aggressive than usual.

Promising report from one animal shelter.

With adoptions up and admission of strays down, things are looking good at one California animal shelter. The good news comes from the 2018 Animal Welfare report for Pinellas County.

New movie about a WWI heroic dog - Sgt. Stubby

This is a heart-warming animated feature film about a brave little pitbull named Stubby. The amazing thing is that Stubby's story is all true.

It all started when an American soldier named Robert Conroy befriended a little stray pitbull in New Haven, Connecticut.

Making the case for pain felt by fishes

Fishing seems to most of us like a cruel sport. How can it be otherwise when the fish is caught with a barbed hook piercing its jaw?

Commercial fishing increases the problem a million-fold. What should we be doing about the suffering of fishes and the way we endanger their very survival?

About time? US may pass a law against eating pets.

Incredible to learn that only a few US states ban the slaughter of dogs and cats for human consumption. The practice is said to be rare, but it is a cultural tradition for a few new immigrant communities.
We hope this is the only way you'll ever see dog on the table.

Now a new federal law would make that practice illegal across the country. When enacted, anyone breaking this law could face a year in prison or a stiff fine or both together. Needless to say, animal protection groups are pleased at the prospect.
